Dr Jane Runnacles and Dr Alice Roueche, two of the MedsIQ clinical leads, ran a personal practice session titled ‘Practical Approaches to Medication Safety: Innovative Quality Improvement Ideas for Reducing Harm from Medication Error’.

The session was a practical exploration of QI approaches to reporting and managing medication errors, which actively engaged the participants throughout and resulted in a submission of a new project to MedsIQ.

In collaboration with Making it Safer Together (MiST) network and the SAFE programme, MedsIQ also presented at a symposium on the importance of networks and collaboratives in spreading Quality Improvement.

The keynote speaker Dr Dominique Allwood from the Health Foundation presented on the theory of networks and engaged the audience in a highly interactive session via an online polling and commenting tool. This opening speech was followed by case studies of networks and collaboratives, including MedsIQ with its Champions’ Network.
