Metavisioning Social Determinants of Children and Young People’s Health

We share a vision of child health through the thoughts and conversations created by an ecosphere of engagement to accompany the RCPCH Conference 2021 session on social determinants of children and young people's health.

MetaVisioning is a process that positions any decisions or actions you take in the global historical context. It links your narrative about what you see and feel is happening in the world, to your narrative about what is happening in your community, and place of work. It reveals the potential impact you can have beyond what appears to be your sphere of influence. MetaVisioning deliberately avoids a problem-solving approach and focuses on the idea of dream realisation, in the holistic context of the whole system.

Dread, Delight, Dream

Before RCPCH Conference 2021, we asked you to share thoughts on your Dread, Delights and Dreams for child health. Take a look at the images created from the responses we received:

Looking at the world today, especially for children and young people, what fills you with unease, anger and dread?

Looking at the Health and Social care system today, especially for children and young people, what fills you with unease, anger and dread?

Looking at the world today, especially for children and young people, what fills you with enthusiasm, optimism, and delight?

Looking at the Health and Social care system today, especially for children and young people what fills you with enthusiasm, optimism, and delight?

In your dreams what is the world you yearn to see for our children’s children to inherit and inhabit?

In your dreams what is the Health and Social Care system you yearn to see for our children’s children to inherit and inhabit?
